19 of Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been earned on hardcourt
A comeback Medvedev claimed his first title for 882 days with victory over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open championship match.
The athlete, a ex- world number one, has endured a challenging year, managing just one match at the major tournaments and undergoing a setback at the New York tournament.
Medvedev's varied form on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his serving in particular - resulted in him falling of the world's top 10 and ultimately splitting with former trainer Cervara.
Currently collaborating with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has steadily progressed in the past month - peaking in a hard-fought competitive win over challenger Moutet.
This represents the player's initial championship following the Rome competition and initial on a hard surface since spring of the previous year.
The win also indicates the Russian has achieved 21 titles at twenty-one various events.
"It's the first time I have attended a event with my children simultaneously, so to secure a trophy is especially meaningful," stated ranked player Daniil Medvedev.
"This victory is in tribute of my second daughter her name, because the initial championship I won when my child my daughter was born was for her."
Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his past six title deciders, featuring in the German tournament in the past months.
Medvedev's retrieving approach and recurring reactions on the playing surface had led commentators to wonder if his capacity to perform at the elite level was over.
However the player has altered his approach in recent weeks, making an effort to come to the net and play assertively, reinforced by an improved serve.
Medvedev recovered from a deficit in the first set against the tricky Moutet, winning 4 of the last five exchanges to go ahead.
The competitors traded service breaks in the following set before the Frenchman, bidding for his first tour title, gained dominance to force a final set.
He rescued four early-game break points in a tight deciding set before Medvedev secured a break to 15 to close out the victory.
Suitably, the winner clinched victory with a shot at the net area, with Moutet failing to manage a shot after over two and a half hours.
